K. M. MUNSHI

BHAVAN'S FOUNDER PRESIDENT ( 1887- 1971)

Areal karmayogi, Munshiji was a beacon for generations to come. Like most of his eminent contemporaries, he too studied law and made a mark in the court proceedings. Drawn to the freedom movement, he participated in many struggles and was a true Gandhian. His vision for India of tomorrow gave birth to an ideal institution Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Thiruvananthapuram Kendra

The Thiruvananthapuram Kendra of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, commenced functioning in February 1986, is one of the major Kendras of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. It runs the following institutions:

The Kendra in collaboration with Infosys Foundation and Bangalore Kendra Organizes Cultural Outreach programme for supporting rural artists and to revive extinct art forms of Kerala. The Kendra is the nodal centre for implementing the programs since 2012.

KINDERGARTEN

Bhavan’s Bala Mandirs, the kindergarten section of Bhavans Trivandrum Kendra, believes in the holistic development of children. Through hard work and utmost devotion, the teaching and non-teaching staff of the kindergarten section ensure that each child learns through active participation and develops all the motor skills. The school primarily aims at building social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills of a child. School begins with an assembly in which the prayer, pledge, exercise and meditation form the integral part. Children are encouraged to speak on a topic of their choice. This not only enriches their vocabulary but also builds their confidence. Rhymes, stories and topics that enhance general knowledge are introduced regularly. Puppet shows and dramatization enlivens the learning process. The teachers introduce new ideas everyday so that the children love their kindergarten days.
